2015, The year of Grace

Hello to all in cyber land. I haven’t posted in a while, primarily because I’ve been working on myself.

I was walking the other day and I found myself questioning God about some things. It seemed to me that for some reason, those in the body of Christ who are not willing to compromise their faith for the world standards aren’t fulfilling their dreams or are struggling in some way. Everybody has some sort of a crutch. The Lord brought Hebrews 12:1 to mind.

Hebrews 12:1King James Version (KJV)

12 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

Everybody often focuses on “The sin that so easily besets us” but the folk I’m talking about aren’t necessarily sinning. They’re living for the Lord wholeheartedly and not compromising His word. The Lord told me to go back and read the phrase before. “Lay aside every weight”.  Ah instant illumination or an AHA moment, if you will. Weights are not necessarily sin but things even in daily life that keep us from “running the race set before us” or “fulfilling destiny”.  These weights can be emotional, spiritual, physical or even financial. I don’t know about you guys but I don’t want to go into 2015 carrying the same weights I carried in 2014. Honestly, some of these weights we created for ourselves and that’s why we have to lay them down, not God for us. He’ll help us but we must make a conscious decision to lay the weights down ourselves. For some, it may mean cutting ties with those who burden you emotionally or getting an extra job to pay off some things so you’re financially free. You can’t fully move into your place of power until you’re weightless. Whatever the weight is, it’s time to let it go.

As I continued talking with God on my walk, I asked about 2015 and all He said was “Grace”. We in Christendom often define grace as God’s unmerited favor and that’s certainly what it is. I also like to think of it as “God’s elbow grease to do things with ease.” I don’t know about y’all but I need more of God’s grace in my life.

I believe that as we do our part by laying down weights that’s kept us burdened for so long, God will do His part and give us grace to accomplish things and fulfill destiny in 2015.

Let the church say Amen!

On another note for those asking when my 3rd book “Love’s Legacy” is coming out. I decided to push things out a bit and shoot for a release date of May 2015 around mother’s day instead of February.  The cover we were going to use was too busy so I’ve decided to work with a local artist instead of a graphic designer to create a custom cover so everyone who buys the book gets a piece of art. I’m still planning on hosting a book festival but perhaps in October of 2015. The rest of my original 2015 timeline still stands, God willing. Thanks again for your prayers. I have big dreams and lofty ideas but I have an even bigger God who will help me accomplish it all!

Dream big guys because 2015 is the year of GRACE! SELAH!
