Trusting God more:

Proverbs 3:5-7

New King James Version (NKJV)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him (submit to Him), and He shall direct your paths.

I don’t know about you guys but I’m in a place where I feel God is requiring me to trust Him more. This is different from simply believing in God and accepting Jesus as our savior. You may have faith in God but do you trust Him with your life?

Mathew 18:2-4 teaches us that our faith or trust in God has to be like that of a little child. Adults always try to figure everything out but little children believe anything you tell them. I know this scripture is usually used in reference to initially putting our faith in God and accepting Jesus as our savior but I believe it’s also applicable to trusting God with what happens in our lives on a daily basis. It certainly doesn’t mean we become gullible but rather opens our capacity to receive all God has for us.

Sometimes God allows things in our lives to get us back to Child-like faith and trust. When God starts to shake up your foundation, you know it’s time to trust Him more. I’m the type of person that has to have everything mapped out for me before I step out on something but we know that’s not necessarily how God works. Sometimes He gives us a directive that requires our complete trust of Him in order to fulfill. He doesn’t give us a road map other than the Bible to guide us. He simply requires us to submit to His leading each step of the way. I admit this isn’t easy for me but I’ve decided to hold on to God for dear life and take the ride. I may not know the fullness of what He has in mind in the beginning but I know His vision for my life is clear and it’s for good.

Jeremiah 29:11

New Living Translation (NLT)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

I encourage all of you to ride with me on this trust Journey. We may need to close our eyes and hang on to God for dear life at times but in the end His vision for our lives will manifest & not delay! (Habakkuk 2:2-3)
