“Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices
as much as in obeying the Lord?
To obey is better than sacrifice,
and to heed is better than the fat of rams.
²³ For rebellion is like the sin of divination,
and arrogance like the evil of idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the Lord,
he has rejected you as king.”

A lot of people wonder why it feels like the Heavens are closed to them. This scripture is key in answering that question. Have you been obedient to God? What was the last thing God asked you to do? Did you do it? Even if you only did part of it, It’s still disobedience! When God calls us, He requires everything. It may not be easy in the beginning but if you’re faithful, humble & submit to God’s leading every step of the way, He will come through!

God would rather have your obedience in the beginning than your sacrifice after being disobedient! What people don’t understand is that disobedience leaves scars. Some of what people have been through in their lives is not necessarily because God ordained for them to go through those things but is a result of disobedience. Many in the body of Christ are crippled and wear their scars proudly but  how much further would they be in life if they had just listened to God in the first place. I don’t know about y’all but I don’t want to reach my destiny all scarred up because of disobedience.

Choose obedience to God today, no matter how hard it may seem or who walks away! The rewards are eternal! SELAH!
